Directors and managers will be eliminated. MP will be managed within the BU and all will report to their Sr. Buyer (one, not stores and .com).

The more and more I read all the comments Target had way too many layers, too many managers. This is too common and I would have read the writing on the wall if I worked at Target. Common mistake companies make when healthy is to review structure and make proactive adjustments along the way. Target made the mistake waiting around because everyone was happy enjoying their paycheck. Nobody was proactive being more efficient. Why? Nobody wants to make recommendations that MIGHT increase their workload.
Fail? Most have done it.
id love to watch the buyers fail at doing the MP roles.
So BA's aren't being eliminated just yet? Probably over time is my guess.
Makes a lot of sense. Hope it happens.
Was this just announced? While some BAs are lazy and entitled...I know there are some that work their asses off...and feel a little bad they will have to take on more work. But the MP role is kind of a joke, anyway. At least it was when I was in Merch years ago...just a spot to go to before becoming Buyer, really.
