So agree!!! Target lost that wow factor when you walk in the store. If I didn't have discount I wouldn't shop there. You go to Costco your like a kid going to a toy store. You go to Wholefoods you want to fill up your cart with produce. Target you have wilted lettuce, dented peppers, etc. We have waited space in our stores I could go on. The pricing signage is ridiculous. So Brian you have a lot to do to make these layoffs even worth the companies time. You only added the teams moral to the mix. No loyality to us why should you expect the same in return?
thank you for sharing, this is a very good article. So spot on...
No, this actually sums it up: "And that is my advice to the Target CEO-clean your own house first, before you take it out on the little guys. Replace every person on your executive team, no matter what that costs, or how long it takes. If you leave the old cronies in place you will lose the respect of every single employee-and that will be the death knell of Target."
This sums it up: "Target’s problem, just like Radio Shack’s, is it failed to see or react to external changes that had been occurring for years. How could they have been that much asleep at the switch?"
Interesting article and spot on. For those at higher levels who last through the layoffs are likely those who are 'yes' men/women and do not pose a threat to the CEO.
