Tgt needs close at least 200 stores along with these layoffs to even begin to pay for it investments needed to catch amzn, As these business models start to come together I would rather be amzn without all of tgts legacy issues. Good luck to all, I'm out
That Seattle retailer you refer to is sooner or later going to have to answer to Wall Street. They are still not turning profits and have been fortunate for all too long to get a free pass on not making money that all other retailers are accountable for. The shoe will drop once others close the e-commerce gap.
I mentioned this in another thread as well, however have been told by a very close friend, who I am near-certain would know accurate info, that the cuts are going to be "much deeper" than has been reported publicly. She states that Cornell has said he wants to make sure he "gets it right".
Any truth to the 9am axe tomorrow morning?
An entire layer will be axed next week. F*** it lets roll to seatle and work for a company that doesn't have circuit city's destiny
500 Monday, 1K Tuesday. Pause. +7 days, 1.5 K again. Done for 6 months, then we start again.
Downtown bars are going to be crazier than Mardi Gras
2k on Tuesday
Through the weekend yes...people were asked to cancel their travel (work related plans) for work. I know I used to fly on Sunday nights for Monday morning meetings.
74341 what pyramid? Also, sorry to hear you got this email. :(
Genetically = generically. Lol
Sorry, typo. The 14th and obviously weekends aren't considered. It means the terminations continue tomorrow through the end of next work week.
The email stating to stay around through the 15th definitely went out, I received it. But I think they just meant it genetically through the week.
Beware of the ides of March
What pyramids?
through the 15th? So on Saturday and Sunday....uh....yeah. Sure.
Some pyramids received emails today stating they have to be in the office tomorrow through the 15th - seems like the majority will happen in the next week.
Worst case scenario: Nothing happens next week, they drag this on over 2 years (as Cornell indicated), slow trickle of cuts, etc. I do not know how they would pull a 2000 individual layoff without filing a WARN notice with the state. Just saying...
Close or more than 3K on Tuesday, that's a consensus in my team. We are all waiting for it. Next week will be really bad, regardless of how deep they cut.
2,000 people laid off on Tuesday
