Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Impact in marketing or creative?

Obviously something will be happening, but does anyone have information about Marketing or Target Creative? Lots of chatter about merchandising but nothing else today... Thanks!

I heard today on MPR where the CFO, Mulligan, was 'hinting' that they want to streamline marketing and make it more micro-marketing with emails, etc. Also they want to cut some of the vendor pricing costs as well. Not sure what it means. Here's the article: http://www.mprnews.org/story/2015/03/04/target-cuts

I no longer work at Target but used to work on weekly ad....I have no doubt that project streamline is going to turn the ad into a pile of shit. the managers are all terrible and self entitled.

(OP here) If Project Streamline cuts ALL of Target Creative on the Weekly Ad/reinvention - that would be sad. The work done in that area is beautiful. Would hate to see Weekly Ad become an automated pile of shit. And 73541, you're right - work is slim in this sector but it'skind of what we signed up for. Already looking around out of state for research. Might be time for a move.
