(Sarcasm) Maybe the mass layoffs will free up even more money for Management to have their bloated million dollar corporate event each year where they fly in famous singers..etc...

My thoughts are that Target will become more like Walgreens - and the dream of having an 'Android/I Phone App' driven Target experience that the CEO talks about is a little too late. Amazon rules that arena.

Maybe Management has a fear that Target might fall behind on its business model like Best Buy did. It’s strange that they are going from a 'Target Super Store' to 'Target Express'. Does Target Management know their customers? I think not...

Change for the sake of change is never the answer.

I have friends that work for Target and I am so sorry this is happening and I am reaching out if they need my help and support:(

Gee, maybe you should take Brian's job. You seem so wise and insightful.

BTW, Target doesn't pay to fly entertainment talent in for National Sales Meetings; it's either negotiated as part of their contract with Target, or they share management with someone who is under contract to Target. There's no cost to the company, other than heating or air conditioning the green room backstage, and tossing some Archer Farms cold cuts out. One of many things you seem to know little about. Like retail strategy, and grammar.

Could it be that he/she understands it, but doesn't think it will be a good strategy?

Obviously does not know the concept of a Target Express. No wonder you are a "former" Target contractor.
