Anyone hear anything about TSS? BAs, SSs, PMs, SPMs?

Anonymous73725, my guess is that you've never actually had real communications with an overseas team or an overseas vendor. If you did, you would understand the hours needed to sift through emails with terrible grammar and spelling mistakes. Or the countless number of times you have to write and re-write "can you please kindly help me understand..." (aka. "Would you please just read my f*cking email and do you damn job".) Yes, the TSS BA is glorified mailman, but that mailman packages all the insights for you so you can drive better efficiency...or go have more coffees or store walkthroughs.
You could eliminate TSS but then the Merch/MP teams would drown trying to manage their workload AND balancing complex vendor relationships. I don't disagree that TSS is a bit fat (like many pyramids) but simply passing that role off to Buyers and MP BAs would be counterproductive.
As an mp ba, I see the TSS ba role as excess-- I write my orders, forecast, troubleshoot, and communicate with vendors. Not sure what they are adding... That said, I don't wish layoffs on anyone. I just wish we had better systems and fewer layers--
I think they could get rid of some TSS BAs and the associate pm role.. APM is newly created and they are just a higher paid BA.
i totally agree. i think for every MP team, they should just add a TSS BA and then the MP manager and senior buyer absorb any roles of the PM and SPM.
Why would they get rid of SPMs?
They should fold TSS and merch together. Get rid of SPMs as no one seems to know what they're doing. At least half the PMs could go. Create shared MS/SS role that flex as things get crazy in different parts of the teams. This, coming from someone that has been in both merch and TSS.
I would not mind if they were to cut PMs, they slow things down
