Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Do you think Target's fortunes are going to change after these cuts?

I feel cutting the bloat is the right move but I still have this feeling that some people who really should behelps accountable are getting away with it.. I have seen a huge organization being built by a set of VPs directors and other so called "leaders" which has been a complete faikure.. These leaders have spent millions on bad decisions and still no one is putting their neck on the block.. If Target doesn't start holding people accountable now, this move will be like any other move in the past such as target ticket Everest canada. Anyhow, I will be leaving target even if they don't ask me to keave

Regardless of extreme posts on this site, the truth is the fat needs to be cut at all levels. VP cuts are actively occurng last week and this week. The question that remains to be seen is if they will just be back filled or if the org will truly realign to a more effective structure.

One of the justifications that was given for layoffs was ease of decision making.. In my 7 years at target we have engaged external consultants for capabilities we could have internally developed. Those decisions to spend millions were taken with no resistance at all. As quoted by one senior leader, vendors engaging with us have either taken us for a ride or ran in the opposite direction. Who will account for that money spent?
