Does anyone else get the feeling that all non-exempt positions will be eliminated and exempt team members will end up taking on the extra responsibilities that are left over?

I'm guessing non-exempts will be safe. I'm a NE myself and what we make compared to what the peeps in E15 or E17 make is peanuts. I feel like what I do is a lot of crucial grunt work. I used to be on a team of primarily exempt roles and it was unreal how much slacking off was done! People coming to work at 9:30am and leaving for the day at 3pm. Plus taking a full hour for lunch and about two Starbucks runs in between. Good grief! There are days I don't even have the capacity to leave my desk for a bathroom breaks let alone multiple coffee runs.

You're clearly delusional."leftover", "extra responsibilities"? The non exempts are often the only ones working hard. They have to account for their time whereas exempts can dick around on coffees and micromanaging their underlings.

No, that is not even legally possible. Many types of roles require the position to be non-exempt.

Quite the opposite. Non-exempts have a real production value more often than not. Low pg exempts? Same thing.

I'd look for targets in the ex-15 to 17 pgs who micromanage direct reports and are nothing but bloat.

That's my dream world
