For most guests, it's the employees at their favorite store. Not Brian, John, Kathee, the Board or any of us potentially in the crosshairs. And TI? Most of our guests would be surprised at how many of you are part of the Target Team. A lot of investors thought Target was going to announce a raise in wages for store employees. I can only hope that announcement comes down the line--maybe to try and shore up Target's reputation. The layoffs are going to go down especially hard with Minnesotans as they have always felt very connected to this home state brand.
Isn't it time to look at the board and management team that put us in this position? 3G was awful, but he wasn't the only one at the helm when bad decisions were made. Sure, there are cuts that should be made in the rank & file, but there should be equal culpability among the higher ups. They were in decision making positions, they make the big bucks. Where is the accountability? Where is the bravery and humility of our leaders? Show that to us--the people working to make Target better, stronger qr instead of posturing in front of investors, the media, and the Target Board of Directors. You are being arrogant when you assume that YOU are Target.
