Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

How do I keep working with an unknown future?

I'm at the bottom and I love Target and I wanted to make a career here, but how can I feel stable enough to move if all I've seen in my first year are countless layoffs? How do I work towards movement when I'll be in fear in the next two years? Should I start looking for a new job? Yikes.

Same boat. Already looking elsewhere for other opportunities. Safe to have a backup plan if this falls through.

The problem is the future is almost always unknown. Every Corp. has layoffs, small businesses fail & contract work expires. It is just part of working. Keep your head up & work to the best of your ability. Because until you file that retirement paperwork you're the subject of forces you can't really control.

No employee at any major corporation should feel that they are immune to any layoff. If you go to smaller company, that company could be bought out and then closed. If you work at a corporation like Target, major reorganizations are part of the game that leadership plays.

Here is the thing... there are plenty of companies that you will love just as much as Target.
