Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

What groups are they targeting for layoffs now?

I am confused. The VP cuts were very surprising for me, I thought we were done with layoffs for 2015. But now, they are cutting again. What's going on? Why are they cutting and what groups are targeted.

Didn't realize Obamacare caused redundancy and unnecessary complex procedures in everyday work. Oh, that's right, it doesn't and this has nothing to do with Obamacare. Troll.

You can thank Obamacare for this.

I think they will move quickly with many initial cuts. The March 10 date seems very legit. I think Cornell will act quickly to show how quickly Target is executing the new strategy.

Or you could leave on your own, there are plenty of better companies to work for in Minneapolis

I would say it doesn't do any good to worry but March 10th looks like the day when many of us will be at the bar early to spend a good chunk of our severance pay.

Should we be worried about "March 10th" announcement someone refereed to yesterday?

I do not think they will move quickly here - they needed an announcement to calm the Wall Street, so there you have it, 2 billion in cost savings with several thousand layoffs over next two years. I think all of us will be spending a lot of time on this website over next two years.

It looks to me that nobody is safe. We knew for some time they are looking at cutting costs on the exec level
