Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Target Retooling

I was the person who posted the "October and January" post on 11/1/14. While I missed the January date by a couple of weeks, it still happened even when other posts didn't think so. It was also before the Canada announcements. That being said, Target needs to retool in order to compete in the highly volatile retail space. More changes will result. Jobs will be restructured again due to new leadership redirection. Those that can adapt will get new life into their careers and those that can't will see change from the outside. I see some tm posts that indicate how clueless they really are with their current positions. If you believe you are immune to change, you will be in store for a big surprise.

When Canada started up they hand picked the team to work on it. These TMs worked their butts off to meet crazy deadlines to get everything done to open the Canada stores. They can't be blamed for the Canada shutdown but they were the ones in the sights of the layoffs. So it is unfair to them that these jobs are on the way out. I do agree with the original poster that for many team members, more job changes are in the future. I feel bad for those who Target is their first/only job. I too see a lot of ignorant TM's.

If I understand your argument the 550 people let go must have been selected based on being identified as individuals unwilling or unable to change.I call BS. Your observation is spot on at the day to day individual level but for large scale layoffs the cause is exclusively a leadership failure.
