269: And when the poor placement reps can't place him/her, they get yelled at and then the student joins the Corinthian 15 and refuses to pay back their loans. It can't be THEIR fault that they're unemployable, and society OWES them that free living money!

Wait, you mean stipend is not another word for free money? WTF?!!!

70874: When that happens at my campus, it's usually a student attending part-time. At HT they get full loans up to COA (which includes "estimates" of living expenses, travel, miscellaneous, etc), and we keep that very high so they can get large stipend checks. Therefore the student attends at least four years, getting stipend checks the whole time to live on, and then finally finishes with an associate's and a mass of debt.

I posted earlier as Anonymous70874

Having reread the comment I posted earlier, it makes absolutely no sense.

What I should have said is that if LaTonya was anywhere close to meeting SAP I don't understand how she could be anywhere close to the aggregate limit in an Associates Degree program, much less over it unless she didn't qualify for grants. I'm not sure about other campuses or divisions, but in the three years I worked there my campus offered Direct Loans and Tuition Options/Genesis Loans only. T.O. and Genesis only covered unmet cost, and students could not receive aid that exceeded Cost of Attendance.

Idiots...federal student loans will not be canceled! With it over a trillion now you want to talk about too big to fail? Guess what will happen if they abolish these depts?

This just shows how many stupid people get duped because of their own stupidity.

874: You're confusing aggregate lending limits with Satisfactory Academic Standards. My guess is that you're one of those people who know just a little about something but consider themselves an expert. It's absolutely feasible for a student to borrow their aggregate limit and meet SAP standards. In fact, it happens frequently.

Anonymous70874 : Well, that amount doesn't include Perkins. Or private loans. I have a feeling LaTonya grabbed at whatever she could get. She needed a new webcam and other stuff (Latonya - it should have gone toward singing lessons)to help her break into the music biz.

Yes. We couldn't make enough calls. Tough break.

Um... the aggregate limit for federal loans is $57,500 for an undergraduate degree. Did we completely throw out the qualitative progress rules out the window?

767 -- LaTonya was very reasonably expecting the U.S. taxpayers to pay for her to have a personal trainer, private spa chef, and home gym to "facilitate" her in meeting the physical requirements of the job. Didn't you hear her? She's not a failure. WE failed HER. I mean really, she showed up to class sometimes, and her stipend didn't even pay enough for her to shop at Nordstrom's. How is it POSSIBLE that she could have done anything more to help herself? That poor little angel! She slept and slept, and when she wasn't sleeping, she screached her little heart out on YouTube. Surely she's earned us forgiving a mere $60K debt for her? She must be exhausted!

LaTonya: I know our Admissions will take anyone with a pulse, but there needs to be some accountability with the student. Seriously, Criminal Justice? Was there NEVER the slightest thought of "passing the physical" that entered into your head? What were you thinking?

Damn!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxOev_HeWU8 (How the hell can you not get hired as a cop?!? Them fools!)

LaTonya Suggs: You are so damn proud (outraged?!?) at the level of debt you achieved for a two-year associate's degree, but I have some questions for you. Your debt amount is over twice what any Everest charges for a two-year criminal justice degree, including book and supplies cost. Did you just keep failing and failing and wanting more taxpayer money to keep going? Or (and this is more likely), did you borrow from the honest citizens of the country to maintain a lifestyle that you couldn't afford? Seriously, a full-time degree takes about 20 hours a week, including studying and assignments. Are you claiming to be a profound imbecile who needed to put in three times as much time as a normal student, or is it that you were just too damned lazy to work and support yourself? ca't have it both way, LaTonya - which is it?!?

LaTonya: I think I have a clue as to why you couldn't get a job in Criminal Justice. And it's not that they only hire geniuses to be cops...

Are you the strange person who thinks the Department of Education and Corinthian's academics are the same thing?
