Could this eventually turn into a class-action lawsuit? The fact that they're treating an entire workforce consisting nearly 100% made up of women seems like a slap in the face (or on the ass as I'm sure the executives would prefer).

I am sorry to say, but they are deliberately not telling you (from higher up). They want you to leave. Most of you are very talented and hard workers. And cost more than a fresh-out admin. They didn't lay you off because they need you to clean up the mess, and then let you go. They are deliberately being heartless so you will feel anxious, and hope you leave. This is so awful, and I feel awful for you. The good news is you know where you stand - no longer valued by the company (the CEO and the board who hired him as they knew exactly what they wanted - Brian destroys culture and gets rid of hoardes of people - and not the leader you're supporting who loves you to death and is greatly appreciative). Know that regardless of what happens, you are talented, and Target can't take that away from you.

It really shines a light on how little Target respects their administrative support. Ironically, the leaders that are waving their scissors around the string holding the admin jobs are the same ones that can't go to the bathroom without their admin scheduling it. The admins seem defeated and I feel for them. Imagine any of us being told a month ago that we may be layed off and that's it. We are sent back to our desk with no information, expected to work diligently, and pretend like our personal lives aren't on hold because we may or may not have a job. Then on top of that, a month goes by of coming to work day after day with zero information, communication, or guidance from the leaders they work hard for every single day. I know this is probably a worn out statement at this point but keep your head up admins! Your teams appreciate you!

This feels oddly reminisent of another large mn electronics retailer 4 years ago. You are not on a fun journey and I imagine if you are there in 5 years from now the company will not be the same. 85% of the people will have changed, the culture will be bankrupt, the focus will be on cost savings not revenue, career growth will go the way of the dodo and don't get me started on worklife balance. Brian will leave at somepoint with his short term victory and fonancial incentive and Target will putter on. Goox luck.

The only thing you have control over is being prepared (network, resume, LinkedIn, apply for jobs, do mock interviews, etc). I am one as well and I empathize with you . All I hear now are rumors and it might not change for a while. How they are handling this is disrespectful and sad.

Many will be laid off. We do not know how many. We do not know when. Do not stress out, you cannot change anything and you will get a healthy severance package.
