Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Don’t ask what Qualcomm can do to save your job, ask what kind of a job you can do to save Qualcomm.

What only I can do is to walk away with no package to save some $$ for Q to save it. We need many guys to achieve the financial goal.

Ah, bitter landlord. So nice to see you again. Hope the repeated vacancies at 6 month intervals aren't too much of an inconvenience when your tenants get laid off.

You are bitter landlord because you are on a layoff board "rubbing it in" as if people care. Maybe get back to counting pennies, Scrooge

Half million minimum. Lol. Just think what happens when the all cash buyers dry up and interest rates go up. They won't u say?, because your precious leveraged assets are protected by a Greenspan, bernank, yellen put. Precarious situation. Bubble thinking is great! This time is different! We've never had a national decline in housing, er, wait check that.

I don't go to work, either. Retired at 43

Anonymous88099 and Anonymous88100.

Wrong and Wrong

  1. I'm not bitter, because I'm financially independent. You on the other hand seem to be bitter and have to go to work and put up with whatever crap.

  2. It's kind of hard for housing to crash when the subprime buyers aren't the majority these, and when the majority of buyers are either all cash, or close to it. Just because you can't come up with $1/2 million in cash as the bare minimum for a down payment doesn't mean there aren't plenty of people that can. And like I said, before house "crashes", your precious QC stock and your 401k and the general stock market would correct much faster. So I wouldn't be wishing for the Fed's pump and dump to end, since tech would be the first to get hit, you definitely first.

  3. While your QC wage + comp package has been stagnant, there's plenty of other income sources everywhere else for which hasn't been stagnant like yours has been. So, you're getting left behind.

But hey, enjoy!

Stagnant wage growth, so the only explanation for current bubble in housing is artificially low interest rates. Sales volume will collapse if that juice runs out.

You know that you are not working for a chip company, when QC can let go almost 30k people, and it will maintain most of the net profit for many years to come. That is the reason why the lost of sockets in Samsung S6 translate to about $1billion in revenue but only about $100million in net profit. What can you do as a HW/SW engineer to help QC? Very little.

Yes QC salary slaves. Please continue to slave away at your job. The more successful QC is, the more steadily my rent checks from your H1-B employees come in, and the more I can continue to jack up rents, and the more expensive my north county homes will get, leaving most of you starting out a renter- indefinitely. (though, I'd say part of that is due to Bio tech and companies like Illumina). I never knew Senior Software Engineers at QC with an H1-B get paid close to $100k salary alone, with just 2-3 years of experience, but I was sure surprised during employee verification and requested tenants copies of their paystub. What I don't understand is why some of you also pay close to $4000/month rent for a single family home in north county. Talk about bending over. But I guess with some condos in north county running $500-600k for a condo, it takes two wage earners to afford to own, let alone trying to afford a SFH when your just starting outt.
