I am told that target is ending contracts abruptly without any notice. Any updates?

After so called portfolioizing, each KMGs were asked to cut 30% of contractor foot print. My area went through this process recently, and they know the contractors who will be let go.

With contractors leaving, does that mean BAs and PMs will now have to ACTUALLY work? God help us!
in my area..contractors reduction is in full swing.
It is only PM and BA roles who are being rolled off.
Most of the contractors from both On and Offshore are gone, specially in Testing of BI area.
They are not being let go in the area I am in. Yesterday, I was given the ok, by my VP, to extent 2 contractors. But, I had to give very detailed reasons why we needed to keep them.
Don't know about company wide but I was told today my role is changing in Store Planning (Properties) because our contractors are being let go tomorrow.
I know they released some from Cognizant today, but I do not know how many.
if anything, I would guess they will be ramping up contractors, but who knows?
