There are many idle people without real projects to do in Q... Windows, Qnx, customer supports,... very easy to trim.

from what I've heard, there will continue to be layoffs slowly chipping away. As one manager in CORP-IT said, no one is safe. I have also heard from the finance department that things are also looking grim.
SD doesn't need that succubus of a sports franchise. Good riddance. Big deal, QC will have naming rights on a giant parking lot. It can become "Snapdragon Monster Truck Rally Dirtheap"
The "twits" on that Committee to build a new stadium could vote to build a frickin' sports palace for the Chargers and they'd still leave San Diego, because the owners only care about the money; and from a financial standpoint, that San Diego, which is the #28 TV market, can compete with the #2 market when you compare revenue.
It may not be such a bad deal, though. IF the parade of horribles regarding football's relationship to traumatic brain injury continues, kids won't be permitted to play, people will gradually lose interest, and it will become about as socially acceptable as dog fighting in about a decade.
QC may have planned layoffs, but I think they've reached a critical point where they have to be more careful about it. They're in danger of losing their most talented engineers--if they haven't left already.
What is CSR?
Any thoughts about the Qualcomm acquisition of CSR? How does CSR fit in Qualcomm?
How many people of CSR (2000 now) can be employed by Qualcomm by the end of the year?
Which part of CSR will Qualcomm keep or cut? Bluetooth? Voice/Music? Auto? What about
document imaging (printing SoC and SW, mostly in Boston area).
I think the way mollenkopf works is different from Jacobs.... since he took over, he laid off people in 2013 as well as 2014....as such Samsung not using snapdragon will have an impact...so it will lead to layoffs in Nov/Dec time frame in line with the past two years.....the bigger question whether there should be any layoffs or not....After reading on this webpage no one is saying that QUALCOMM is efficient.... everyone is finding the next guy doing useless work ;-) and the management will get rid of people for sure come nov....as it is needed ....
The layoff goose may be poking many bottoms. Tighten your buttocks people.
I think the Windows Phone group would be sitting around with clenched buttocks
Chargers can't leave soon enough. Some taxpayers don't want to subsidize that nonsense / mediocrity. Buh-bye!
Many a job will be lost when the Chargers leave Qualcomm stadium.
