Almost ALL of admissions is being laid off for "lack of production" and won't be replaced as faculty picks up the slack.

Not sure what planet your on, but all is fine with Admissions. No layoffs on my campus. Lots of tours going on.
691 There's no need to ask for manager's approval. Anyone can apply and have the chance to be admitted. However, an application is required to be accepted. You can also apply online for convenience. It's called the "Unemployment Insurance" claim, if you stick around there any longer. You know for the fact, that what you're doing is wrong. Now, you want to join the admission? These are the folks that let these incompetent students in, as you describe in your post, and for you to teach them to begin with. (CCI call) How ironic. Now, you want to join them? lol

I am a faculty for Heald and I would like a chance to do admissions. I cannot even imagine the feeling of bringing a future graduate in at the ground floor. It must be so empowering. How do I get to do admissions? Do I ask a manager? Is there a separate application? I imagine this would be competitive, so I hope that an early application would be considered first. Thanks for any information.
Admissions is considered an income generator. They'll never get rid of them. They'd scale back on faculty before scaling down on Admissions.
