I was impacted on 3/10 and already have a new job - start on 4/1. Anyone else having any success? Interviews? Call backs? There's hope, folks.

It took me exactly 2 weeks to find a (much) better paying job and one that will allow me to break thru barriers that existed for me at Target and grow my career--barriers that were largely related to the culture there. I was astonished at the interest. I had at least 3 recruiters tell me they had clients specifically looking for people laid off by Target. If you've been laid off, I'm sure this sounds like too rosy a picture but in my experience there is honestly a bit of a feeding frenzy! I had a good experience at Target and will always be loyal to the brand. But while I still love Target, the lay off was the push I needed to break out. There really is life after Target!
I just started applying this week. Nothing yet, obviously, but I'm hoping to hear something! Feeling a bit hopeless at the moment, but we'll see how next week goes.
I can tell you Allstate is looking to expand in the area. If you've got the knowledge to run a business and sell, or the ability to learn, they're looking for good people.
I was apart of the 2/11 layoff and just started my new job this week. Overall I liked my job at Target (minus the painful processes and lack of collaboration to get stuff done) and really liked me team, but I knew from the start Target was not my home. Target did me a favor, I didn't have to worry about paying back my sign on bonus, had a nice paid vacation and not I get to double dip. Also I am pretty sure I am going to really like my new job and I already really like the team and the company.
Companies are foaming at the mouth over the new pool of talent available. I work in IT, so maybe it is a little different for other fields, but I was almost overwhelmed with all the recruiters and companies wanting to talk to me.
