All, you have to do is talk to people and let them know what Target is all about, and how we was treated. I made it my mission to tell atleast 1000 people how Target treated us, and how they should change their shopping habits not to include Target. Get your severance check in hand first though. Roughly 3000 layoffs the last 2 years X 1000 = 1 in a 100 in this country. That can be powerful.

Let's all scream Union.. Bah-hahaha. That's the answer. The union soles problems. I was in a union at one point and all I did was give them a stipend of money that was already scarce, and then they proceeded to let me go .. thanks for your help. Unions don't solve the problems.. Employees do !!!!!!!!
Agree... All these complainers have the answers, but no one steps up and takes some leadership for themselves... as if, they are entitled to a job.
Its employment at will. Bitch about Target all you want, but layoffs are a reality everyone. Everyone has turned into "captain hindsight" after the Canada debacle......
Target is still a great company.

I was in DTO until we got the boot last year. I have a better job now, but will never shop at this place again. Let me tell you what they did to us. They take us in 2011, and change us back to hourly. Karl Riebs at HQ claims it is because of some lawsuit in CA. We kept our time in Clarity from 2007 to 2011. We was always encouraged during this time not to put more the 40 hours in Clarity. So I didn't put much over that. My mistake, they paid everyone for any hours over that during that time frame, if you signed the legal document. Well under pressure, being I still wanted my job in good standing, I signed the legal document. I went from an EX11 to a NE10. EX11 topped out at nearly 90K and NE10 topped out at around 52K. I was told I was now over the pay scale and would get lump sum payments for an annual increase. 2.5% if I reinvented the wheel and got an O. We all know how hard it is to get that. Then we was the only people at the DC that was hourly that had to clock out for lunch. Every other hourly employee didnt have to clock out to take their lunch. We had to because other states had to do it. They made us tote the phone and rotate the oncall and basically told us no drinking and be within 30 mintues within the DC during that week. Didnt get a dime for that unless you got called. I found that these phones wouldn't ring if wrapped in tin foil. I never was written up during my time with Target, and this was 10 + years of service. They didn't even offer us a job loading trucks that day. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN TARGET AGAIN.
