Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Report online shows who is being laid off http://weatherford.com/owbpa (Password owbpa)

Not sure if nobody else read their termination papers but this report clearly states the region, job title, age of those being laid off by Weatherford which was included in the forms they gave me when doing the lay off. Take a look and if your job location, title, and age show you as being "eligible" you are going to be laid off it's that simple no more wondering.

http://weatherford.com/owbpa (password owbpa)

"Employees are "eligible" for the employment termination program because the company selected them for termination and because they are eligible for offered exit benefits. Employees listed as "ineligible" are ineligible either because they will not be terminated, or because they are not eligile otherwise for the benefits of this program."

Be sure to check the positions on list vs working employees. The general list has employees who are not on the list and still working. Noone will ever know their status and keep working. HR will not respond.

I wonder if they will update this with the second round coming. Can anyone answer this? I hope I stay "ineligible" but a heads up would be nice

Texas Gulf Coast is listed right after the Rockies. It's still there. Midcon includes Oklahoma and North Texas

I think the * means the person in that position was offered the so called early retirement package.

Okay I checked the site when this post was 1st posted and Texas Gulf Coast was listed. Now fast forward to today and I don't see Texas listed. Is the site having technical difficulties.....

Maybe the report should be a test. If you are too stupid to read it, you get added to the list.

How hard is it for people to figure out a report in plain English? If there are numbers other than 1 that means there are more than one person with that same age, title, and position that would be 2, 3, 4 however many.

So what do the 2's, 3's and 4's mean in the ineligible column? I do see where several people in our division were in the eligible column and lost their jobs last week. I could find those...and I found my self in the ineligible with no star...but those numbers other than 1 confuse me.

It does say a 40 year old Plant Manager in MidCon is eligible. Anyone know who that is?

So, I know that we are still in Round 1 of the layoffs, with Rounds 2 and 3 coming up. I wonder how far in advance they update these eligible/ineligible numbers to the next round being started?

Or do they update the numbers after employees are actually laid off?

It seems to indicate that they're not eligible for the normal severance and health benefits package:

"Employees listed as "ineligible" are ineligible either because they will not be terminated, or because they are not eligible otherwise for the benefits of this program. The footnotes indicate the reasons that certain individuals are not otherwise eligible for the benefits of this program as well as other information."

The only footnote I could find was at the very bottom of the page that says "Ineligible due to eligibility for the voluntary early exit incentive program."

So the ones who got the early retirement package are not eligible if they are in the

ineligible column?

Anonymous67745 - Keep in mind that the list is a bit misleading if you're looking for hard numbers on who is getting laid off. If there's a 1 in the Eligible column, that's a definite layoff. If there's a 1 in the Ineligible column, then they're either not getting laid off OR they are, but they're not eligible for the severance package. So newer employees I would think.

This is required by laws in the United States, not Canada, so you'll only find US employees listed.

where is Canada? I don't see it on there but it is already started laying people off!

It looks more had stars by their names than people laid off. The numbers don't look like the 5,000 they said in the first round. I hope a lot of the voluntary people take their 6months pay and leave before it's too late because most from what I see are the high paying jobs and might save headcount for us low paid positions. I hope things turn around soon.

To be honest this appears as it might be the layoff list. I'm not sure how many names are on it so that would be the real way to figure out if it's everyone or just those being cut. It seems to be missing people and/or short on total numbers, example of CNC Machinists. There are not a lot on that list and Id imagine that much more actually work in the regions identified.

Anyone know how to make that list into excel?

If you were ineligible did you get any severance? From the letter they gave it says "ineligible" might be laid off but doesn't get severance.

I thought if you're Indian, a former Halliburton employee, and/or barely speak English you're ineligible for termination. At least that's how it is in IT. The morons in global supply chain under Precious Stern are all safe.

That list is crap because it says my whole department was "ineligible", yet here I am jobless.

The thing that I find maddening about it is there are guys with less experience that didn't get laid off and don't have any business being there.
