It's about time management got smart and saw the fat that slowed Target's performance. It's no wonder that Amazon and Wal-Mart kick butt... They demand accountability from their workforce. TGT on the other hand, for SOOOOO LONG... thought it was best to have statuses and meet people in the Great Hall.. just to meet. Gosh forbid if anyone worked past 2pm on a Friday in that office... Oh yes, they were across the street at a bar complaining about their lack of upward mobility in their career. Thank You to the new Execs !! Keep up the discipline and the inspiration !! I'd love to come back and help take that company to a new level.

The store team members are the only dedcated ones. They have to serve customers with smiles on their faces (despite having bad days), and then, clean up ALL of the missteps thrown upon them from incompetent merchandising/corp teams.
agree on the statuses and meetings in the great hall - the minneapolis skyway is full of people with target badges walking around with cups of coffee in their hands. i get the collaborative culture stuff - that's great - but that, combined with "working from home", has gotten a little out of control. and yes, i would bet that less than 30 percent of the hq workforce is at their desks after 2pm on fridays.
yeah amazon doing great ... Except for the fact they admitted that they are not making any money and that they are heading towards a unsustainable business
Define 'Shambles'
If you mean the stock is fluctuating at a 10yr high, they are the largest retailer and grocer in the world, and when they talk about anything related retail, performance, etc... 'people stop and listen'... then "Yes; They must be in shambles" ... I thought they were in Arkansas. Unless, you mean: Arkansas = Shambles.
Wal-Mart is in shambles, you know that, right?
