What's your typical severance package?

The severance I mentioned was in Canada. The law is very different between Canada and the USA so I'm not certain what is offered in the USA.
If I remember correctly from 2008 I think people were offered approximately 1 week of pay for each year of service plus some additional pay if you signed their release form (another week of pay per year?)
I'm sure there was a cap on the number of weeks you could receive.
