170 to be cut in tech operations in India that supported the Canadian operations

Do we have any news here aside from the statement above?

You get what you paid for. There is history of jobs moving, failing and coming back. There is more to success than hiring a bunch of freshers who stay in a role for a couple of years.

Target India is one of the reasons Target is junk today.

Target India has a stupidly high turnover rate, there is no leadership, no communication, the Project Managers are not leaders, the BA's have zero communication skills and everything else is software engineers trying to put things together with pins, needles and duct tape. Target could be great again if they would bring the entire TTS organization back to Minnesota and get GREAT programmers that know what is common sense and know how to think outside of the box.

Target India Canada Support jobs are in Business services and in TTS.Few TTS folks are already moved to different roles leaving the positions open for layoff! Business services team wont find these layoff impact full as Target was NOT a good pay master in Indian Market in business services areas . TTS impacted people will surely find it difficult to find jobs else where as Jobs for 7+ experienced people is getting too difficult unless you have lot of core Tech knowledge . TCS has layoff 25000 People recently and there are tons of people out there already looking out for Jobs all senior folks. We dont have social security nor get severance package in 90% of the cases. So worried lot.

And maybe they can sell the Steinhafel building that Target wasted $$$ on.

At 3:36 pm Minneapolis time, it is 3:07 am in Bangalore, India. They are 11.5 hours ahead of us. Therefore it is still the middle of the night.

The media is reporting 170, but I was under impression we had at least 300 people supporting Canada from India. Maybe some of the folks will be transferred.

Agreed, there is a ton of IT jobs in India, but I really liked our team over there - I visited two times and got to meet most of them in person. Good luck to all
