If it makes you feel any better, Schlumberger is run just as poorly. Besides gleefully announcing it in the earnings call, Kibsgaard didn't have the balls to make any direct communication to us about layoffs. Just some hilarious blather about "our transformation" that would make excellent Dilbert material.

Schlumberger will end up laying off close to 20,000 people...which is significantly higher than they reported in the media.
