It feels like layoffs aren’t likely anytime soon, at least from my perspective. Sure, it’s smart to stay prepared just in case, but things seem stable for now. Hopefully, we can all breathe a little easier and not stress too much about what’s around the corner. It's just my gut feeling, though!

Oh, more will be coming. A lot of departments will be offshore to the Philippines… more Americans will lose their jobs for cheaper labor.

They only need you to get past the 1/1 firedrills. Once the failures are reduced in mid to late January....You Gone.
When will you people learn that layoffs NEVER stop here. It's apart of the culture. They literally have folks whose primary job is to conduct the group RIF calls and answer RIF questions. It won't stop!
I was told we met our goal, and we were in the clear. Currently Im typing this as I take a break from my job search. Take from that what you want. Cheers to 2025!

I am the polar opposite today. I know my RIF day coming. Too many people under my director having been sitting with little to nothing to do for a couple months. I suspect the director is keeping work for his direct reports with not enough to pass to those of us that report up to the manager that reports to this director. Some days I am okay with it. Others days I am afraid. So afraid.
There will be January layoffs. The only reason you are feeling like they won’t be anytime soon is that in December, there is a time period when RIF notifications get put on hold. So just because things have been more calm lately in December doesnt mean Jan layoffs arent coming.
