Are any other teams dealing with being criminally understaffed? We’re swamped constantly because there are simply not enough of us to handle the massive workload we’re expected to cover. I swear, I’d love to see those at the top take over for just one of us for a week. Just a single week. Maybe then they’d finally understand how completely unmanageable this situation has become.

Yes. After the Dec RIF of 2023, we had 10. We lost 4 before June and only got backfill for 2. If i take a day off, we the work won't be completed. If someone is sick. The work won't get done.
Stop whining. It’s called being an adult!
Directors won't complain because complainers get axed. That is what I have seen repeatedly including the loss of the best leader our team had.
Lol. If your directors aren’t complaining, you most likely aren’t listening. Typical.
VP here. If my directors aren’t bi--hing about staffing levels, I have streamlining opportunities. When I get them in headcount fights is when the right balance has been struck.
My VP could not, cannot, and has never done the work that I do. Yet, that person easily makes 2-3x my salary and bonus.
I’m bleeping burned out. Hard core. Going through the motions. Getting little to no support from leadership who takes off the last two weeks of the year.
Yes. Criminally understaffed, but those at the top keep nepo hiring external people who want to reorganize everything without hiring more people.
