- Everyone should be prepped...just like those hurricane checklists.
- You should have a top notch resume NOW. Mention achievements , emphasize talents that may make you a good fit for a new but different job. If you get cut, ditto for Linked- In, say you are looking. No shame in that.
- Call old friends outside Chevron and say Hi for the Holiday season. And - oh, btw, things are getting really crazy at Chevron, do you think there is a spot over there, just in case. Want my resume?
Don't wait. Companies ramp up hiring efforts in January.
- Have a short list of internet sites and job shops to send your resume if you get cut.
- If you do get cut, stop drinking and smoking until you have the new job offer.
- Start doing a regular exercise like 2/miles a day running to fight off the anger and depression.
- Network, Network, Network. Relatives, friends, professional.
- Go see you regular doctor for a wellness check while its still paid by Chevron , Ditto for spouse, children. If you are depressed, talk to your doctor for recommendations.
- Find a non-expensive hobby to give you a substitute focus in life.
