Thread regarding USAA layoffs

I’m completely demoralized

We are pressured to perform based on unrealistic expectations, and we never get rewarded for the effort. Pay is not exactly something to write home about, while personal investment in terms of time and energy almost never pays off. Advancement avenues are very narrow if not completely closed off. The only certain outcome is that you’ll be laid off regardless of how good a performer you are.

Cant be a leader when you are the only one on the team in your location.

This company has become a circus. The mortgage department is poorly managed. They do not care about employees. Sad what it's become

Why aren't you getting promoted? Because mgt isn't looking for your good performance at your job. They're looking at your character traits and talents and then deciding if you fit for an advanced role. For years I wondered why I never got promoted. Then it occurred to me: I'm not in fact qualified in my talents/abilities to be in a supervisory role! I'm a follower, not a leader. And mgt in all my employers realized this abt me and never promoted me. So there you have it. Possibly you're not getting promoted bc you're not exhibiting leadership or mgt qualities?

Never feel bad about doing your best. Your work ethic defines your drive to succeed, not the inadequacies of others. It is hard to cut out the noise of those who may not aspire to success, but you are in control of your own destiny. Remember, this is just a steppingstone in your career path.

Its a mess in aml…

You have to do 6 alerts a day.

Fine, i do, and then some. Top performer but yet at end od drop, alerts get reassigned out and those that do not do thier production get alerts taken out. We all have the same amount of alerts now.

So why go overboard when others on my team can slack off with no repercussions?

Id feel guilty if i dont do the minimum.

Still waiting for a promotion. Been exceeding in my role for four years. Im alone at my location and there are a few in aml there. Team is in another location. Gotta be in the office four days for collaboration. Such cr-p. I mean pay and benefits are good, but ugh, cr-ppy situation…

I know of at least 50 experienced risk and compliance managers that either rocked the boat and got managed out, or couldn’t stomach the non compliance, governance inefficiencies and just left. What’s funny is the risk and compliance people that got down graded in 2019, got promoted again and again. Rewarded for the same behavior. Same stupid games, same stupid results

I’ve been asking to be laid off from this place for a year now…if only…

Instead I have all the other things you mentioned, just without the chance of being laid off.
