No real research, no real investment, no development, no long-term vision, no ideas whatsoever. We became too rigid and procedural, with layers upon layers of mostly useless management. Acquisitions? You can gobble up only so much and pretend it’s growth. When you cut and reorg for short-term profits and don’t invest in people and your own new endeavors, you could easily end up dead in the water.
