People are anticipating next year to be worse than this one. More cuts, layoffs and offshoring are to come our way. Is this based on facts, or people are just speculating? I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what will happen, given the current trajectory. But I’m still worried. This has been a bad year, full of anxiety and uncertainty. I personally don’t need even more stress.

Ironically, the issue … VP (leadership) … is in charge of layoff decision. To hide leadership inadequacies a “spin” happens to say there are “talent” issues and the same job quality can be done overseas at a fraction of the cost. In reality, the job is subpar at best and holds the company back from being truly innovative. So the weak link (leadership), has the power to pull the same cost cutting levers they have been pulling for decades, instead of becoming the leaders needed for today. This kind of leadership is the problem and Its goal is to extract as much wealth possible from America communities and put into their pockets along with their partners in crime overseas.
Don't worry, just make sure you spend a lot of time documenting your culture and behaviors so your boss can ignore your actual achievement of goals and put you in the homogenized 2.5 needs improvement and positioning on riff spreadsheet for sorting. It is a zero sum game and you better be nosing or you'll be the last to know.

They should start with the Carelon global solutions in Philippines. As providers we hate to follow up on claims the reps are not good. Don’t think they have any understanding of the healthcare system in the United States. Anthem just wants to profit of them and pay them less.
My Staff VP mgr confirmed 2025 rifs. It’s across the enterprise. It will be tough yr for those rifd AND those left behind to carry extra workloads.
2025 won't be good for sure. Already UNH CEO ki-ling has put pressure on all health insurance companies with respect to costs, authorizations and claim rejections. Then add on top Trump’s DOGE and further Medicare/Medicaid anticipated cuts to manage burgeoning fiscal deficits and spiraling debt. And stock price and market cap has decreased significantly. In a capitalist country where leadership gets paid more in stock comp than in fixed salary, expect leadership to reduce headcount and cutdown expenses wherever possible to reduce OpEx and to guard further impact to their take home. Everyone should stay prepared for the worst case.
Please put some Managers, Directors and Staff VPs on the list. Enough of Directors managing directors managing directors managing managers managing managers managing managers. Cut down the hierarchy further and save some IC headcount that actually does the architecting and managing of systems.
Yes, alot of cuts already happened on the Medicare side, lots of jobs got offshore to the Philippines, To Carelon global solutions and more to get offshore. No one is safe, not even in case management and UM as they are getting off shored over to the Philippines. Claims is already off shore to Carelon global solutions in India so they people in India processing claims. What a disaster , all for what? Cost savings ??
This is real. I have personally been in some discussions. VP of Staffs and Directors already have lists started. 2025 will be filled with pressured pointless initiatives from the Executive branch that they believe will “help” gain book of business but our systems are too outdated and departments can’t physically handle the work. There is a massive push for AI to downstream revenue and offshore as much as possible. 2024 was horrible but 2025 is a nightmare with no life saving g equipment.
