Thread regarding Corebridge Financial layoffs

What now?

Once again the promises made fade away in the distance of the usual Corebridge BS. After years of ups and downs it seemed as if the past few months were finally turning things around just to have it all taken away. Why do we allow ourselves to continue to be taken advantage of by a system that only continues to gaslight us at every opportunity. I used to be proud of working for AIG, or VALIC, OR AIG Retirement Services, or Corebridge Financial…but the last bit of hope has finally drained. It seems to be that the only way to move ahead is by leaving and coming back, but now it seems like coming back is not even worth the stress. Too many times I have put forth my best work (even when it seems like I am not being compensated for it) because of course CRBG sees a problem with you not out-doing your job BUT they do see a problem in compensating you for it. When you finally speak up and try to put yourself first for once, they just sh!t all over you and make you realize how worthless you really are to them. All those nice words they use to bring you on board and all the BS our not so wonderful C level individuals throw at us at every townhall are nothing but lies. Why is the company so hyped about the record earnings and outstanding performance, but still sooo cheap when it comes to compensating individuals? We’ll give you this higher salary grade because you have so much to contribute and bring to the team, but we only have like an extra $3.00 a year for you to make? How is that fair? Is not, but if you ask to have them match what the industry pay for the exact same position, they laugh to your face? Like how dare you ask to be compensated for work they know you can because you’ve been busting your a s s for years?

I know this won’t change anything in the company, but it has definitely changed how I feel about working here. Best thing to do is just leave this place, because if they don’t drive you out with the pi as poor attitude, they will find the appropriate Accenture individual(s) to do your job. Doesn’t have to be done good or up to the same quality you were doing it, it just has to seem like it is getting done.

Overall STI will be better than 90%, but who knows how it will be allocated. The total pool was 130% last year, but nowhere near that level of funding was given to L2s and below to allocate
