Aerospace Units Most Possibily For Sale

Activist Investor, Elliott Management who has over 5 Billion invested in HW is pushing HW to sell the Aerospace Units.

Does anyone know which units & locations are up for consideration?

Honeywell Canada will be loosing 25% on all products shipped to the US as they are the originating manufacturer of the product. Will definitely have a huge impact on their revenue!

Tariffs are paid by the originating owner. Or shipper for those less informed.

Tariffs are applied to products that move over borders. Owner doesn't matter.

With Trump expected to pose 25% traffis in Canada, I expect the Canadian divisions will be sold off to an American competitor.
Anyone, have thoughts on this?

Replying to myself, bad form... however...

Jim just sent out his 'hostage'/'remain calm' video, while he was clearly in Charlotte.

Something big is happening, 100% chance. Only question is what and when they announce it.

At first blush I can see some reasonable options:

  • Spin off as mostly one piece.
  • Sell off as mostly one piece, very possible but I'm having a hard time thinking of a realistic buyer.
  • Split into three basic pieces. Engines and APUs as one piece, Avionics and satcom as the second, Controls and brakes as the third.

I'm not confident in saying the odds for each option.

What I am confident in is that something will happen. CEOs don't put out press releases and a video just to say nothing is happening. I strongly suspect whatever is happening is far enough along that too many people know to prevent it leaking.

Why not all of it? The entire point of the spin off is in unlocking the value of the entire aerospace, defense and space units. So all sites, personnel, product lines etc... thats how GE did it, and thats how the street expects Honeywell aerospace to become. Right now, GE Aerospace stock alone is more than all of Honeywell combined

The radio divisions: commercial, business, and general aviation. These products are too difficult to offshore because engineers need years of experience.
