I called a person who was RIFed today and he was really down and scared. He was one of our highest performers and received the financial benefits of his sales success. Maybe to much so and he became a target to save money. I agree with everything the posters say below, and I have read them all for the first time today, because I have been here for nearly 20 years and know the good old days and have witnessed our current financial and cultural decline. It's heartbreaking actually but in the middle of these hard times, I ask that we all call our former coworkers and friends who were cast out and let them know they are thought of and missed. The one I checked on today is struggling emotionally and financially and he said the call made him feel better. Please don't forget those who are no longer here. We must care for our former colleagues more than the hatred we all feel for the way this RIF was done and the way some of our leaders are managing this company.

My bad. I meant I called my friend that day but my friend was part of a smaller group that was released two weeks after the original layoffs. There is a third wave coming early next year that is part of this plan. A trusted friend and source who is involved told me. He had also told me about the much smaller wave two week after that and it happened. We are all good through the holidays and a couple of months beyond that.
Checking in on your laid friends is what real friends do
Called someone today who was rifed in the last round, or called someone who was rifed today?
Any CDW competitor would love to have a good seller and guaranteed they pay more than CdW does.
Surely no one was let go on a Sunday!?!!
Is there another RIF round coming?
You would think we could at least get through the holiday season.
You’re good people
