Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Laid off . Descriminatiom

My manager discussed my role , salary, age months before I was laid off. In layoff he said my job is offshored at less than 1/3 of cost.

Basically it’s a disaster. Done in august 2024. Mentally broken after layoff.

They’ve been known to lie about the role you perform.

So whilst your manager may claim they are making your role redundant in the meeting, wait for the official paper work.

A few years ago they said I was a specialist application engineer and it was an application I have never heard of in my life. It’s was a CSC application and I was HPE.

They definitely don’t play by any rules.

i did'nt the liability waiver release agreemnt in exchange of small payment. I rejected it.

If there are more who did'nt sign the waiver agreement, please reach me at zonekeke@gmail.com. We can go to class action suit.

I am 48 . I believe i was laid of due to my age and my health issues that i brought to my manager.

I had a similar experience. Can’t say too much due to legal matters. I was laid off over the summer, the Friday before my 50th birthday. The layoffs in 2024 were quietly orchestrated and dealt to few individuals at a time. I only know of one other person in my organization that was let go. I should have been more aware of what was happening but I was busier than ever so thought I had job security. My colleagues were shocked because I have a great reputation and was one of the most productive and helpful employees in my organization. To this day I don’t fully understand the decision from a logical perspective, only perhaps statistical. It’s not the first time DXC intentionally laid off older workers. They’ve been sued multiple times for various types of discrimination.

Of course they want to go to lower cost counties as the USA and UK is too expensive and you all are cry babies for complaining year in and year out but never change emploers on your own

How can this happen that people are being laid off in GBS and GIS? I mean they are hiring new IBMers all the time!!

They don’t give a sh-t, when they’re done with you, they’re done. Appalling company.

The company wants drones that just say yes sir, we can do that sir. Don't argue, don't make a fuss, don't ask for a pay rise. Whether you are any good at your role, and how much you are billed out at appears irrelevant. DXC doesn't deliver any value to clients or itself. It just wants paperwork.

I got laid off whilst 100% billable to the client. They told me they didn’t want to keep the role, except my role is about as widespread in the organisation as corporate greed.

Nobody else was selected just me.

Work that out.
