I left and am so glad I did. Family and friends have noticed I’ve returned to my old happy self, and my new company is balanced on all fronts. Looking back, I’m very sorry I stayed for as long as I did and allowed 3M to impact me so negatively personally and professionally. The word toxic has powerful meaning now that I look back on experience with 3M. Get out and take your life back. You’ll be happy you did, and so will your friends and family, even if it means less money.

in our plant , it is production workers coming up with the ideas to improve production , yet it is the nine process engineers who take the ideas and do a project and take the plaudits. Also, can someone tell me what million dollar inventions we have come up with lately, well i rest my case

We need to put a stop to this thinking. The factory floor workers are important, sure, but only by the grace of God are they still employed rather than seeing their jobs outsourced and offshore.

The backbone of if this company are the inventors, the innovators, the process improvers. People with ideas that can actually move the needle.

Except 3M is actively driving them out because they command a premium in the market and HR just sees them as expensive employees who could be replaced by someone with no experience for half the price.

Hr is trying to influence you to voluntarily quit with posts on here. Don't. F them. A company that gives a sh-t would reduce costs at the top or leadership would cut their own wages. That's never going to happen. They won't because this company doesn't seem to give a f about their own business. Wait it out, let them fire you for b.s. and go after them. That's what they're scared of.

Same here. I have 25 years here with this company. Although benefits have dwindled over the years, I am contented to just continue quiet Quitting while collecting my pay cheques. Let those directors and above to worry, they are paid LTI anyway

Counterpoint: I'm riding this gravy train until all the milk is su-ked out.

I don't have to work too hard, I get paid pretty well, my benefits -- while nearly not as good as they were last year -- are decent.

My boss seems to change every 12 months or so, but that's okay, because each new boss takes so long to figure out what it is we do that they mostly just leave me to it, and that actually keeps some corporate BS to a minimum.

I just have to keep reminding myself that this company is likely going to change significantly over the next 5-10 years. I will not be able to retire from 3M like I had hoped. But I can still profit from it; I just need to prepare for the future. I need to be the ant, not the grasshopper.
