Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Use Anthems money! Then hit the road

I jumped on here to see what's happening. Long time employee of 40 years Rif'ed last Dec.

Two ways to use Anthems money.
Take as many courses you can get certificates, even if it's Excel, Tableau etc. Do what you can to better yourself.

My timeshare had a separate bucket for sick time. Use it I tell you ! Do not save those hours they got over 200 hours from me of sick time . It adds up

Look, at this point there's no loyalty, well there is your loyalty to the company, but its a one way street.

You're not doing yourself any good by stressing out over it. I know it's making good people ,like me who really cared about her job , turn into oh well no one gives a hoot. Why should I. That's not healthy for anybody. But that was how I ended up.

While your there, your helping people, members, employees, that's what counts
Hold your heads high stay true to yourselves.

YES…DO THIS! Use them like they use you. Wish I had done it. I was RIF’d early 2022…can you believe they’ve been doing this since then!?! I was fortunate to find a job internally before my 30 days was up. WORST decision I could have made. For the next few years I was miserable. Working long hours, weekends, during PTO, and underappreciated. Not worth it! I finally decided enough is enough and quit! And I haven’t regretted it one bit. I took a risk, a risk that paid off. I took some time for myself to reset, and rebuild my spirit that Elevance chipped away at, day after day. And guess what, I landed on my feet in a job with TRUE work like balance. I gave Elevance 15 years, working my tail off for them, and found out the hard way that you’re just a number. THEY DON’T CARE about how hard you’ve worked or how many years you’ve given them. Sad but true. I know not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to take time to reset before jumping into another job, but if you can, I recommend it. Don’t be afraid to put yourself first. You deserve to be happy and appreciated.

Absolutely, 100%!!! There I no loyalty anymore. Go into self preservation mode, take courses that can beef up your resume. Look at job descriptions and if you do not have skills or experience that matches-GET IT! Don't save PTO, unless you are in a liberal state that mandates you receive it after term.
