Thread regarding AMD (Advanced Micro Devices Inc.) layoffs

I truly commiserate with those who lost their jobs

But I also feel sorry for those who get to stay with AMD. It’s going to be real fun managing workload with crippled teams. I’m sure no one is going to give a damn if we can do it or not. My team lost several people who were critical for cohesion and productivity. Maybe hard work can help to bridge the gaps, but we have just been shown that hard work doesn’t really pay off.

Agree. We’re one deep one most everything. Can’t wait to get laid off during the next round as the ship feels like it’s sinking fast and something shady is going on.

Yeah, I was impacted but I had the thought: I’m glad I’m not left at AMD. That place is turning into a shithole work environment. Teams were already squeezed for resources and now teams have to do more with less. Lisa Su was good when AMD was smaller and really needed to buckle down and focus. But she doesn’t have the skills to scale and go to the next level she’s trying to take the company to. She’s driving the company into the ground. Saw another comment here calling the place a house of cards. Agree, it’s a house of cards.
