Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Little pay rises, We Can't grow the Company,

Bullsh-t Boville on $10 million, D-mb Drumgoole on $5 million, Funny Fernandez on $28 million, F ing Finchy on $5 million. Bullsh-t Boville said the share price will be $100. What a bunch of jokers can't even grow the company and they are still talking cuts.

"We do just want what's best for our clients, DXC and ultimately us."

Loyalty within workers has three core themes:

(1) Loyalty as reciprocity, where there was an expectation that loyalty would be returned no matter what.
(2) The importance of emotional connection for cohesion.
(3) Loyalty as a prioritizing process, where a worker’s loyalties gave them a way of choosing between competing demands.

Loyalty is a moral emotion that enabled sensemaking.

Close interpersonal loyalties tended to trump wider/diffused loyalties.

That's a broader definition and you can see how in DXC this has become broken.

Sometimes this is referred to as "having gone native"... where your loyalties and priorities are just to your team and your clients..... its bad for the company and its what naturally occurs when you feel like the company is an outsider to your group and doesn't have your interests at heart.

The step beyond this is not simply ignoring the "outsiders" but actually actively fighting them.... I think we've got to that point here.

@5kvi+1vu4HZ8Q Absolutely agree. What do they expect? Us all to say OK DXC yes, carry on shafting me. I love it. Pay rise, nah you keep it. You'll probably need it to pay the extra heating bill on your luxury mansion. Work extra to cover all the people who left already. Of course. And no, you'er ok I still don't anything for that. Not even a thank you. Certainly not a mince pie, or even an ecard sent to everyone at 17:30 on xmas eve.

We do just want what's best for our clients, DXC and ultimately us. That is not achieved by having people on £10k+ salary differences and who haven't seen any reward for years. That policy leads to the - I don't care, I'm not going to be helpful, in fact I'm going to try and sabotage it all. It can all come crashing down so we can get laid off or transferred. I don't care which really. Anything but working for DXC will suit me. Or... They could just decide who they want to keep, and put them all on the same grade and start getting the job done.

To the person calling everyone crybabies, there’s no harm in venting. Who’s to say the folks posting grievances aren’t looking for a way out? The job market in tech is horrendous right now, if you haven’t noticed. I’ve been told I have an amazing resume many times now, but I still haven’t found another job. It’s not easy to just leave when you’re dissatisfied. Mobility is difficult and it’s likely that DXC is taking advantage of that situation.

It’s always been, at least during the decade plus that I worked there, a company that attempts to do as much as it can with as little as possible. There’s no redundancy. I recall one year the whole security scanning team was laid off. For weeks, no one knew where to go to get applications scanned for vulnerabilities! Despite all that, the people who remain there through it all are mostly unflinchingly loyal. I was too, until I was laid off.

@4pnz+1vu4HZ8Q Now starts the race for the basement. How can we do this job with no staff at all and still keep increasing the cost to the client. DXC's day will come. Businesses work on trust and goodwill. DXC has lost that goodwill from all it's staff. Try finding someone to reset your password as a favour past 3pm on a Friday. The SLA is 12 working hours. Come back Tuesday!

"Is it so wrong for people to want the company they work for to do well. To respect their talents and pay them a fair and balanced wage in line with their direct colleagues? "

That unfortunately isn't the modern corporate ethos.

We've gone back to hating on the disposable workforce and the workforce in return not giving a fig about the company.

Loyalty in either direction is not even mentioned any more and counts for nothing.

The race to the bottom is complete.

I agree with : @msu+1vu4HZ8Q you all cry that you want pay increases and when the company offers 1 - 2% you stick you nose up. Take it and stop complaining or don’t take it and leave. But stop crying oh poor me!

Left DXC in December 2023 and have received 3 cost of living increases since , plus more vacation time than I can actually take

The 'leaders' at the top of DXC couldn't run a bath let alone a global organisation.

A leadership team comprised of self confessed bullsh*t artists who consistently fail to deliver on the promises they make.

I've seen more order in a Jackson Pollock painting when compared to their strategies and plans.

Roy Nutt and Fletcher Jones will be turning in their graves.

The company has a new plan: Just bill all your time to the end of the month so we can get the revenue in early. What happened to accurate time entry!? Sorry I have already decided and billed for what I am doing to the end of the month. Your project doesn't feature.... Maybe actually we'll start to get stuff done now instead of endlessly flitting between fires, never really putting the last one out before moving on.
