Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

How is Oliver still here?

How have senior execs not seen past Oliver's BS the past year?

He's disliked by customers and HV employees, not only in NA, but around the globe. Morale is at an all time low, and quite frankly he is a danger to future HV business.

It doesn't matter which part of the business you are in, he seems to be able to get to anyone, and cause damage for his own gain.
It simply can not go on like this!

Someone is obsessed with Oliver.. He is the least of you problems ! HV is on the slowest decline I've ever seen in a company.

"He seems misaligned with the demands of his position." How do you know what the demands of his position are?
And a 21-year region specialist? Come on! That is a total AI-replaceable position.

You can go back to this HV gripe layoff blog from years ago, copy and paste some content, and it reads the same sentiments as it does today.

Thanks, Pete and Repeat for your wisdom. You're just a piece of lint on their finely pressed shirts that they either pick off or use a lint roller brush to catch a few extra stragglers along the way.

Oliver is far from demonstrating effective leadership. He seems misaligned with the demands of his position, and Hitachi Vantara would greatly benefit from a more capable individual in this role.

I wonder why he was picked if he was all that?

I know nothing about that particular situation, but it sounds like what's happened in the region I work in, where the underlying reason appears to be "money".

"Yes, you have all that experience and a record of hard-work, but we can employ this other person for much, much less - and they can use all the knowledge articles you wrote and AI to answer customer questions"

Worse outcomes for customers, and there are lots of hidden costs too, but what do those in charge care? They'll be off in a couple of years with pocketfuls of cash, like the last lot and those before them.

"Our employees are our greatest asset" has always been utter nonsense. If they could get away with replacing everyone in GSC with an AI bot, they'd do it tomorrow. So much for "social good" and Hitachi "values".

This clown just played off a 21 year region specialist who has more knowledge and work ethic than anyone in the Mexican GSC.
