Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Well, well, well someone's cooked on the Wicked team tomorrow

do i need to spell it out? you guys are a bunch of imbeciles. what a mistake to make! Ja ja, will it be marketing to blame for not checking the link? or will they blame packaging for not proof reading the final copy? expect the finger pointing to begin monday morning and watch them turn on each other.

So a company can’t get package copy right, multiple skus, exposing Mattel to Licensor penalty, terrible PR and just incompetence. Got by marketing, packaging, product legal, PI, and Design without a peep. Multiple SKUs! Seems corners were cut. From a shareholder point of view, if the company can’t get package copy right, why should an institution investors buy into this company. To change this company’s course, mobilize with the major shareholders .

Using a Sharpie marker to cover the p@ensite address is cheaper than an over label. Mattel is great at over labels to cover mistakes. Just ask anyone working in the distribution centers??

Recalls are reserved for safety issues, a market withdrawal is for this type of package goof. Very easy to see a black sharpie markers being used in the DC’s to keep product flowing to retail.

are you just pointing fingers here and making stuff up for the likes? was there a specific request from mattel to sharpie out the error? i doubt it.

everything was recalled. which means you can't purchase the items, it would be red flagged at checkout.

Well, well, well…. Mattel solves part of the package problem with the same incompetent effort that put the wrong website on package. Seeing Wicked products with Sharpie black marker crossing out the po-n site. Great job , quick thinking. Hope this costs some exec their job.

Hey @2mgc+1vrSXOzZ, @1umf+1vrSXOzZ, since we are on the subject of proof reading, when using an ellipsis, it’s always 3 dots…no more, no less.

link provided by licensor. approved by licensor. yes, both parties should've checked. i've checked the link many times. but at the end mattel takes the blame, as it's their product.

So are they waiting until after Christmas to let you guys responsible for the fiasco go? Or is that the Mattel organization so convoluted and inefficient with responsibilities so diluted that it's actually impossible to find anyone actually accountable? The buck stops nowhere?
This is likely how incompetence thrives. It can hide in the corners of bureaucracy. In small companies id--ts and mo--ns have no where to hide. At Mattel it creates a nest for them.

hey here's a joke: how many people does it take from Mattel and Universal to write down a correct URL? ZERO! Because none of deez nuts between all of them who passed that copy between themselves bothered to check the link to it...

How’s that over labeling of Wicked products going!!!! One thing Mattel does well is over labeling mistakes! Despite all the logic to do things correctly with competent employees the first time, the 5th floor is directing an over label project to save Mattel’s a$$.

Well one thing is for sure, between the FP recall and this fiasco, it gives them a convenient excuse not to give us bonuses.

Does a packaging mistake like this constitute “Core Competency “ or what it is …….. the reason professionals laugh at Mattel in jest!

The issue is Mattel is short staffed and they don’t hire enough people to do a good job. We are constantly running after our tails trying to get it all done. I blame the decision on upper management who look at the numbers and not the quality of the products we make.

the link that was printed on every package goes to a po-n site instead of the movie because they missed one word. and apparently all the other licensees got it right. and its a UNIVERSAL movie to all you dummies who think this is from the mouse.

some of the blame falls on the mouse. surely they provided the information and approved the copy, possibly without checking before final release.

I’m leaning toward it being intentional as a way to generate some press for these dolls heading into the holiday season. It’s enough to make people aware of the dolls, but innocent enough that nobody is really harmed, plus they have complete plausible deniability since it’s reasonable that it was just an honest mistake.
