If the economy turns around, do you anticipate any Ford layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Ford has hit new lows in recalls quality and even employee morale Farley really needs to be replaced before the Ford is no more
Things ARE going to turn around. Finally. Now that our true president is returning to office.
He will IMMEDIATELY implement tariffs that will stop all of the low-cost products from coming into our country from the 'low-cost countries'. And because American citizens are used to paying those low costs, the domestic companies will have no choice but to lower their costs to meet our expectations.
Housing costs are going to decrease, rent costs are going to decrease, gasoline costs are going to decrease, grocery costs are going to decrease. And our salaries are going to increase!
You will all see - we are entering a golden age!
Let go in August 2022. Got a bonus on March 2023.
Of course, it was subject to the AICP %. Then they sc--wed us on our personal performance% (67%). And then prorated by 2/3rds as well.
It was like having salt poured into the wound.
If you worked in 2024, salaried get a bonus, laid off or not.
For the UAW folks it will depend on sales. As for salaried what programs are out there right now? Ford exited the car market in NA so those troops and management will go.
then there is the plan to move hc to Mexico and Brazil.
if ICE stays around longer than the really intelligent senior management team thought then what programs do you create to keep ICE competitive until EVs really pick up?
JF & BF were caught with their pants down on that one...
at the current rate if the oval NA volumes continue to drop and the huge debt they are carrying won't be long.

"February is likely the best month, it will prevent Ford from paying you a bonus"
I will gladly take severance in lieu of my bonus ;-)
Leaders of those with poor performances will be asked whether to offer packages or retain. There is not set number, but industries will shed anywhere from 5 percent or higher as needed.
If you have had a bad mid-year and are on track for a poor end of year, you will be binned into a group of potential separations.
February is likely the best month, it will prevent Ford from paying you a bonus and will be after the President is sworn in.
Of course they’re going to layoff people. That way they can blame it on Trump. They waiting until Bidens gone, so it can look bad for the incoming President.
"US economy is on the verge of recession."
A train wreck has been set in motion and we are in for some seriously rough waters.
It is going to take a while. But recent events give us hope.
Here's the deal. Ford is paying more to union labor than ever before. And now with the new administration, Union jobs will be even more protected from going over seas. The tariffs will mean Ford keeps plants here and may even expand.
The downside? There are no tariffs on salaried labor! So I expect more salaried jobs to be sent to Mexico, Brazil, India, and China.
So yes there will continue to be salaried layoffs.
Ford is too cheap to pay for severance. They started to check ID card swipes. Those who didn’t come in office 3 days/ week will be fire due to company policy violations. I was told it will start 2025.
I sincerely hope that the entire f$@€ing company gets laid off . Sc--w Ford!
US economy is on the verge of recession. Look at how many companies are laying off workers. Now the automotive companies are laying off people, this means recession is becoming a reality.
Things will get worse before it gets better. Ford already laid off thousands of agency and contractors, but it's not in the news. Ford employees are next to be laid off.
The US economy is doing quite well even with prices rising significantly since Covid. Ford layoffs, like other companies, will be specific to their perfomance versus expectations and until Ford can get quality/warranty under control I don't see their performace improving much even with the new administration enacting policy that will delay the EV "mandate (i.e. tailpipe and fuel economy requirements). I haven't heard any chatter or rumors, but the recent news that the metrics affecting bonuses is VERY poor, I'd expect to see cost cutting in the area of personnel during Q1 of 2025.
