Have you guys checked out the job market yet? Things are not looking good, to put it mildly. Very few available jobs and the pay (where mentioned) is underwhelming, to say the least. I'm almost envious of those who were laid off a year or two ago when there were plenty of openings with good pay.

Very little work in the UK. Mainly, the 2 or 3 big customers which, in reality, are draining us because our products are sh-t, we don't have the staff to implement them and it would cost them too much to change providers. Perhaps if AM and ML had actually talked to those on the coal face then they would have known....or, they did know and ignored it because Avaya is going to be sold. I'm inclined to go with the later.
@nup+1vosSnxU you won't find much/any Avaya jobs in the UK, as most enlightened companies (that don't believe the '...Avaya is roaring back' and '...Avaya is adding 1000's of new customer a month' la-la-land marketing hype) are leaving Avaya for superior alternatives. Everyone who has history with Avaya, knows they report a 'new customer' as an existing customer who's simply added a subscription licence! They simply can't stop trying to spin a positive narrative (aka deceive) the market.
If you are laid off in this round do these:
1- Relax for a few days
2- Cut down on unnecessary costs for the next 3 months
3- Decide what you like to do career wise
4- Update Resume
5- Apply to roles you like and learn from each interview
If you are NOT laid off in this round do these:
Follow steps 3 to 5, b/c Avaya will be no more.
Agree with above person that said:
“ instead of just waiting for the “package”.”
Sadly, the problem some people have now is that you’ll be perceived as someone who was doing just that vs getting on with what needed to be done.
Sure, not everyone has the circumstances to do what I did and get out a few years ago, but that’s how many will be seen and you’ll need your networks and something special to rise above that perception. Sorry to say…

Joke, right?
You should sign off with a sarcasm emoji or '/s' just so everyone is sure.
You never know what nutj0bs are out there these days, and even worse, they appear to be on the rise.
Remember George Carlin's quote - "When you think about how stup1d the average person is, then consider that 50% are even stup1der than that"...
I agree. The best possible time to be laid off from this company was years ago. That would have forced you to take the next step to success. I changed many years ago instead of just waiting for the “package”..it was difficult to change with the Avaya sticker stamped on, but it happened. Look it had to happen and i think it’s for the good of your career. Persevere and be ready for a seni difficult ride with rejections and disappointment. But you will come out better at the end of this. Good luck!!
The tech jobs market is certainly challenging but not dire. I worked as a third line engineer for an Avaya B.P. until redundancy came knocking. I was unable to find any Avaya jobs in the UK at the time but there are plenty of other telecoms jobs out there, you just need to be prepared to re-train slightly and persevere.
It’s scary but you’ll be alright.
