Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Anyone else losing workplace flexibility?

Team was told recently we have to work the hours of the state plan 8-5 and take a lunch everyday.l, no matter where we live. No more logging in early or working through lunch even for those who are salary. "Too many haven't been following guidelines"

Flex depends on your PL. I allowed my team extreme Flex Time. We had core hours but they could work anything they wanted outside of that. Half of them did four 10 hour days instead. One took a couple hours every morning but worked five days. I also did that without my PL’s approval but we had all of our work well documented to prove that we were still able to get everything done.

She is not making the shareholders anything. She started as CEO in March 2022. In February 2022, "CNC" stock, which refers to Centene Corporation, was trading around the $58 - $60 range. As of November 18, 2024, the price of Centene Corporation (CNC) stock was $57.61. Down or flat and sold off and laid off half the damn company... now what.

Flexibility is a joke here…they like to say we are flexible and accommodating, but reality says otherwise….It is frustrating that some states have 4 day work weeks, while others do not for the same role in a different state…

Zero chance of me accepting that sort of direction. I put in my time - more than enough time to cover and meet with people inside and outside if my time zone.

This culture cr-p they’re pushing will eventually lead to a call to get people back into the office - and yes, they will find space using a hybrid schedule and desk sharing.

Not surprised. My leadership has been asking for all of us to confirm our start and end times. We all live in different states. They clearly didn't think through any of this restructuring & reorg. I mean come on people have been working remotely since 2020. I live on the east coast but work in a west coast LOB since I started and still do. I am not changing my schedule to work from 11am to 7pm for a non member facing role. Do they think that schools, businesses in my time zone are going to change it up to accommodate them? If it's such an issue they should have transferred people to state plans in the state they live in when they decided to move people around for the sake of "restructuring" . We were just shifted around literally this week again for the 5th time since mid 2023 and are on our 4th manager and have lost 4 supervisors over the last 2 years. Maybe they should stop laying people off at random and put some thought behind how every decision will effect the company and the employees in the long run but that would make too much sense being they are only worried about lining the shareholders & their own pockets. Zero stability and zero consistency.
