I know of someone in DFW who was let go this week. They were told not to log in from the next day, and pay would continue for a month. Additionally, they received 2 weeks of severance pay per year worked.

I heard it's over. If you were not spoken to you are ok. At least on the GWIM side.

if they can call you out for not complying with the 3, 4 or 5 day requirement in your group, you've given them cause to fire you.

Not a layoff.

That's a whole different thread.

I dont go in because i no longer give AF. Sounds like i have a few hundred kindred spirits.

I don’t know what you all are talking about re: arbitration letter. I’ve not seen this. Perhaps those in a right to work state don’t get them and those in union friendly states do? Regardless, if my employer ever put one of those in front of me, there is now way I would sign it without discussing with an outside attorney first. It represents a change in your employment agreement and sounds very shady.

The Arbitration is a bad example as that was a bank wide notice.

Any WARN notices put out to Dept. of Labor? Or will the layoff numbers be lower than reportable limits?

@4jlv+1vo6g4Wc yes, all of tech will be on a call and laid off

If you don’t sign the arbitration thing then it doesn’t go into effect for 30 days. So that wouldn’t work with your 11/15 date.

All-hands meeting was scheduled for global tech on Monday morning, 11/18 with BM and AB. That was the first sign.

Then an email telling us we have to sign an arbitration agreement giving up the right to sue the bank.

Also, the 15th is a FRiday. My guess is the layoffs will be first thing friday morning for tech workers.

Where can I sign up?

Happy to put my name on top of the list to help save your seat if you need the job.

(if they need to cut to reduce expenses, they really should consider a sign up sheet.
It will be like a Black Friday Sale stampede at BofA)

Nah, they're more worried about expenses. Cheaper to make us all miserable until we give up on ever getting paid out, then die or leave on our own.

I believe those rumors were started by the post two below this one. They can’t afford layoffs right now when they will need more people within months. More likely is that they might shift people around to the holes made during the past two years.
