As we started the new year at Avaya, we were all told that we were going to be focusing on Named Accounts only, whereas before we had the entire territory.
We were asked to call out the most important accounts in our territory so they could named to the AM, to ensure the AM did not lose them.
Fast forward 4 weeks, and it appears that was just a trick to get all of us on the chopping block to identify the top accounts that needed attention after the axe drops. All in an attempt to pacify those top customers, who will for sure protest the change in representation they have entrusted their businesses with for decades.
Pretty much the entire marketing department was let go, top performing sales reps, and engineers.
This is a tactic to polish the tu-d.
Make the company lean, so it looks super profitable, and it 's ready for sale.
