Greed has been running the show at US Bank for years now. Nobody should be surprised that so many of us have checked out and are just doing the bare minimum. Why should I put in extra effort when it’s more than clear I'm seen as expendable? A constant threat of layoffs is not the best productivity driver - shocking, right?

A lot of the responders sound like US Bank lifers. Scary. Don’t any of you have motivation to get out of a bad company?
So don't put in extra effort. In 100 years we will all be dead and no one will remember any of this. It's really not that important.
"I work with someone who does the bare minimum and guess what? Someone else has to cover for him."
So stop covering for him. No one HAS to do anything.
Poster who does the bare minimum is probably a PO or an SM. They bow to senior leadership. Talk, talk, talk and say nothing. They work M-F and spend weekends with their families. Push to get things out so they can please the big boys and girls at the expense of those working long hours 7 days a week. They are no where to be found when we go live. Too busy getting their beauty sleep
I work for U.S. Bank and genuine believe my leadership are id--ts, but I would be no better and in no position to criticize them if I brought less than 100% brainpower and engagement to work every day.
I have managers all the way up who sit in their offices 40 hours a week and have nothing to show for the “work” they are doing other than calling their employees’ accomplishments their own. Meanwhile, I’m the one actually gaining knowledge, knowhow, and making valuable networking contacts in and outside the bank.
I don’t like what is going on either. However, I am the type of person that does the best I can all the time. It’s just the way I am. I work with someone who does the bare minimum and guess what? Someone else has to cover for him. He was barely doing above minimum before anyway. Shocking right?
