Anyone would care to chime in with a prediction about potential CIGNA layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Anyone know if Sales Teams will be effected in this round of layoffs? I heard that typically they aren't...curious as to other thoughts on this theory.

I was let go last January due to restructuring. Didn't get a change to get offered another position with the company like some were. I even know of some managers who aren't posting jobs, just emailing people to see if they want to work for them. I'm not sure that is even a good thing. It shows favoritism which shouldn't be happening.

Hearing reports from colleagues that small scale , strategic layoffs happening this week for CIGNA/evernorth with the transition ofMedicare advantage lines of business to HCSCfinalized.
Anyone know what departments are being affected by this?

Is anyone seeing or experiencing Cigna/Evernorth layoffs of older targeting older and/or more senior workforce? Was anyone told their position/job function/role being dissolved after returned from maternity leave or STD?

Some departments will be downsizing by more than 10% this year. Attrition just didn’t happen at the scale leadership had hoped during the return to work initiatives. Some areas may move earlier than others. Widespread headliners are not likely. Small, strategic moves are expected to begin in spring … according to the rumor leaks.

As of Jan 16, 2025 Marketing (specifically, the Internal Creative Agency ) of Cigna just laid off top performers without prior notice about Lay off possibilities.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the package? Is this different than the severance they provide along with layoffs?

I had heard from a source that a package was going to be offered (had thought Q4 2024 but that seems unlikely now) - anyone hear this about Q1 2025? I hope to be offered a package - so close to retirement!

  1. Anyone heard of layoffs occurring in late 2024 or are they just the February time frame, and 2) Does anyone know how or if IT is going to be affected?

I was looking at other companies Layoff boards and they all have this same question with nearly identical wording. Thinking this question was posed on all threads. I did think it was odd when we are still not done with 2024 layoffs.

In MA it was the entire grievance and appeals department. Case managers will now write the grievance letters that can’t be processed by AI.

Do the person who said they had a friend in management that had heard about February discussion amongst people in other departments was that that's the whole reason that managers were in two or three days meetings kind of makes sense I feel bad I haven't been with this company very long but it seems everybody everywhere is laying off

The severance package was 2 weeks per years worked and 50% of bonus (but everyone on the team didn’t get a bonus). Plus, you get paid for remaining PTO.

A friend in management told me a wave is absolutely happening in February and the individuals who will be affected have already been determined.
