Waiting now for the inevitable "return to office" mandate. This is clearly sowing the seed for some sort of "X days a week" ramp up.
If you want people to get together, send a chauffeur. Otherwise the furthest I'm going for DXC is the kitchen where the laptop is.

This is the song for empty real estate and empty real estate equals losing money. I am LESS productive working in an office than at home. Most of our jobs require a laptop, headset, and a mouse. That's it. It nullifies the need to waste time, money, and resources on any additional corporate insanity.
Our client wanted a face to face some time back now. DXC took the work out my hands, gave it to someone closer because it was cheaper. The client didn't think DXC knew what it was doing and asked a competitor to do it instead. I can't say we'd be doing it if I'd have gone. But am pretty sure we lost it because of management petty stupidity. Not that I wanted to travel, and have to go begging for permission to stay in the shiest hotel in town. You want me there - you sort it - oh you can't - oh well. Seemingly makes no odds we both had a 0% pay rise.
So glad it wasn't just me that was incensed by that email, what a load of bollocks. It's been more than a year since I saw a colleague at DXC's expense and I'd love to meet colleagues in a local office but guess what DXC closed them all. So if you think I'm doing a 5+ hour round trip out of my own pocket, think again
