If the market makes a turn soon, do you think there will be Ecolab layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Ecolab just reorganized the field support structure for the institutional division this week. Decisions were made arbitrarily, based solely on the opinions of people that never met those in the field support positions. Some people were given higher level positions that were passed off as promotions, other people were given lateral moves, and some people were separated from the company. No salary increases were given for the “promotions”. More work, same pay. Decisions were made without feedback from managers or those that were supported by these people. No one was able to apply for roles they wanted. Take it or leave it. It’s like they rolled the dice with every person and just plotted them into different roles based on the number on the die.
The new structure goes live in two weeks and there is no plan. The company “builds the plane as it’s flying” and wears that saying as a badge of honor instead of the embarrassment it should be.
Everyone is devastated and they just don’t care.
Layoffs have been happening for the past few years. They are doing it slow and unofficially, so no public reporting requirements. Teams are not being allowed to backfill positions after folks leave, being forced to make do. Teams being consolidated into fewer people with more responsibility. Most regional teams seeing 50% reductions in headcount over the past few years. Not allowed to say more.
Stay away from this company. Executives are selling millions of $ in shares for a reason.
Didn’t even tell upper management until end of the day.
Happened today! All contractors across the company are furloughed as of today. Due to the current economic clown show.
